Dandria La Shawn Shannon

With grateful hearts for a life beautifully lived, we celebrate the memory of Dandria Shannon, who was born on July 19, 1990, in Houston, Texas, to Andrea Shannon and Henry Boone. As the youngest of a set of twins, Dandria brought joy, laughter, and love into the lives of everyone blessed to know her.

Dandria possessed a vibrant personality that was impossible to forget. She was intelligent, fun-loving, and blessed with a sharp wit and wonderful sense of humor. Her playful sarcasm and gift for making others laugh brightened every room she entered. She found great joy in reading, with the Harry Potter series holding a special place in her heart, and she was a devoted gamer who especially loved everything Nintendo.

Her love of learning was evident throughout her life. Dandria attended Galena Park High School, where she proudly participated in the GEAR UP program during all four years of her high school education. After graduation, she attended Stephen F. Austin State University before returning home to continue her educational journey. She earned her Associate of Arts Degree from Houston Community College and went on to pursue her bachelor's degree at the University of Houston. From 2012 to 2014, she faithfully volunteered at Houston Methodist Outpatient Center, reflecting her compassionate heart and desire to serve others.

More than her accomplishments, Dandria's faith was the foundation of her life. She spent many years worshipping in church and treasured the summers she spent at Christian camp. Her unwavering faith in God sustained her through life's greatest joys and its deepest challenges. Even as she courageously faced health struggles that altered the course of her life, she demonstrated remarkable strength, grace, and perseverance. Her faith remained steadfast, serving as a testimony to all who knew her.

To know Dandria was to experience genuine love, infectious laughter, and unwavering kindness. She touched countless lives with her warm spirit and left an unforgettable imprint on the hearts of her family and friends. Though our hearts ache in her absence, we rejoice in the promise that she is now at peace in the presence of her Heavenly Father.

While we would have cherished more time together, we find comfort in knowing that God's love is perfect. The memories Dandria created the laughter she shared, and the love she freely gave will remain with us always. Her legacy lives on in every life she touched and every heart she inspired.

Dandria leaves to cherish her precious memory of her devoted mother, Andrea Shannon; her father, Henry Boone (Deborah); her beloved twin and sister, Xandria Shannon; her sisters, Breanna Duru (Desmond) and Jessica Mendoza (Tahj); her brother, Kameron Boone; her honorary brother, James Sprinkle; and her cherished grandmother, Beverly Sipp.

She also leaves behind a host of loving aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members, dear friends, and all whose lives were enriched by her love, laughter, and beautiful spirit.

We offer heartfelt thanks to her Godmother, Marie Alozie; her dear cousin, Janice Monmouth; Andrea Stephens; Tina Patterson; Karen Moise; her beloved Aunt Jodi M. Williams; James Sprinkles and his wonderful family; and our devoted neighbors, Larry and Tammy St. Andrew. Your love, encouragement, and steadfast support have meant more than words can express.

Visitation will be held at Forest Park South Funeral Home, 12650 Shadow Creek Parkway, Pearland, TX 77584, US, on July 11, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, followed by a Celebration of Life at the same location on July 11, 2026, beginning at 11:00 am.

A reception will take place at Forest Park South Funeral Home, Oceanview Events Hall, 12650 Shadow Creek Parkway, Pearland, Texas 77584, on July 11, 2026, beginning at 12:30 pm.
