

Dorian Edward Stewart, a cherished and compassionate individual, passed away on June 17, 2025, in Pearland, Texas, at the age of 72. Born on October 26, 1952, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Dorian was a wise and inspirational figure to all who knew him. He was a man of many talents and interests, remembered for his thoughtfulness, generosity, and humor.
Dorian obtained a Bachelor Degree in Business Administration from St. Louis University. He was a dedicated professional, working as an accountant and later serving as the City Manager of Ellisville and Berkeley, Missouri. His career was marked by his hard-working and honest nature, earning him respect and admiration from colleagues and community members alike.
Dorian was deeply devoted to his family. He was the loving husband of Patricia Ann Stewart, with whom he shared 48 years of marriage. Together, they raised two daughters, Victoria Stewart and Lauren Ashley Mitchell, and were blessed with grandchildren Bryson Mark Mitchell and Braelyn Ashley Mitchell. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence Edward Stewart and Flora Elouise Cohen, his daughter Victoria, and his sister Pamela Denise Jackson. He is survived by his wife Patricia, his daughter Lauren Ashley and her husband Bryan Mark Mitchell, his sister Cassandra Ann Lockhart, his brother Glennathan Alan Stewart, sister-in-laws Joyce Henderson Miriam Giles and Sheila Green, and a host of cousins, nieces and nephews.
A man of diverse interests, Dorian enjoyed playing music, watching old movies, dancing, gift-giving, and classic cars. He was an avid fan of the Cardinals and loved attending family affairs and concerts. He also had a keen eye for fashion and art, which he used while coordinating and decorating. Known as a "movie buff," his favorite film was The Godfather. He cherished music from the 70s, including artists like the Temptations, Earth Wind and Fire, Marvin Gaye, Prince, and Frankie Beverly. Dorian was a dedicated member of Breakaway Unlimited, which brought entertainment to the city of St. Louis.
Dorian was actively involved in his community, having been baptized under the leadership of Reverend Earl E. Nance Sr. at the Greater Mt. Carmel Baptist Church in St. Louis, Missouri. He was ordained as a Deacon in 1986 and served as the Chair of Soldan High School's Class of 1971 Reunion Committee.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the therapy staff who kept him active, the many doctors involved in his care, and caregivers who supported Dorian during his recovery at TIRR Memorial Hermann Rehabilitation. Special thanks go to Harbor Hospice Care for their support during Dorian’s transition, allowing the family to spend quality time with him.
The family is also appreciative of Wheeler Avenue Baptist Church for their spiritual support and guidance during this transition, their assistance in coordinating arrangements, and their generosity of providing programs to guests.
Additionally, the family would like to express their sincere gratitude to friends and all who have supported them during this difficult time.
Visitation will be held on July 3, 2025, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at the Wheeler Avenue Baptist Church, located at 3826 Wheeler Avenue, Houston, Texas, 77004. A Celebration of Life will follow from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm at the same venue. The Graveside Service will take place from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm at Paradise Cemetery South, 16001 Cullen Blvd, Pearland, TX, 77581. A Repast will be held directly following the Graveside Service at Larkspur at Shadow Creek, 12635 Shadow Creek Parkway, Pearland, TX, 77584, in the Art room in the front lobby.
Dorian's legacy of loyalty, faithfulness, and humor will forever be remembered by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
