

Dorothy Ford was born on November 13, 1940 in Mansfield, Louisiana, to the late David Jones, Sr. and Hattie Hymes Jones. She was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She departed this life on July 27, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of strength, grace, and care.
Dorothy graduated from high school and began her professional journey at Phil Rich Fan Manufacturing Company, where she worked diligently for seven years. Her natural gift for caregiving led her to pursue certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant. She went on to serve in the healthcare field for over 35 years, providing compassion and comfort to countless patients and their families.
A visitation will be held at Forest Park South Funeral Home, Celestial Tides Chapel, located at 12650 Shadow Creek Parkway, Pearland, Texas, 77584, on August 9, 2025, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm. The funeral service will follow at the same location from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm, with a police escorted procession following the services. A graveside service is scheduled at Houston Memorial Gardens, 2426 Cullen Blvd, Pearland, TX, 77581, at 1:30 pm. A reception will take place at Forest Park South Funeral Home, Oceanview Events Hall, 12650 Shadow Creek Parkway, Pearland, Texas, 77584, from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm on the same day.
In May of 1963, Dorothy was united in marriage to Mcarthur Ford. From this union came two beloved daughters: Monique Snow and Katina Ford.
Dorothy was a woman who loved deeply and gave selflessly. Her joy was found in caring for her family, tending to her cherished plants, and baking sweet treats from the heart. She had a warm, nurturing spirit that brought people together.
She is lovingly remembered by her children; grandchildren, Jayvon, Ke'aira, and Jade; and great-grandchildren, Aaliyah and Layla.
She leaves to cherish her memory her beloved sister, Patricia Lowery, and a host of extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, among those are her sisters, Rosa Matthews, Modest Eldridge, and Carolyn Brown; and her brothers, David Jones, Jr. and O.T. Lowery, Jr.
Dorothy's life was a reflection of strength, grave, and unconditional love. Her memory lives on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
