Eloy Gutierrez Jr.

Eloy Gutierrez Jr., 40, passed away on September 8, 2026. Born August 11, 1986, Eloy will be remembered with deep respect for a life marked by steady perseverance and an abiding belief that challenges could be met—and overcome—with determination. A resident of Houston, Texas, he leaves a legacy of faith, service, and steadfast love for those around him.

Eloy achieved a bachelor’s degree in accounting and became a certified personal accountant, building a foundation of discipline and purpose that carried through every season of his life. His resilience showed not only in what he pursued, but in the consistent care he brought to doing things well and seeing them through.

Throughout his career, Eloy served in numerous roles, including work with the Harris County Auditor’s Office, Accountant at Phillips 66, and following Phillips 66 he became a Certified Public Accountant for the following companies; Lance Worldwide Camin Cargo Control, Aditya Birla Global Trading (formerly Swiss Singapore Inc). In each setting, he was known as someone who kept moving forward—reliable, capable, and committed to the work entrusted to him.

Eloy was big on family and enjoyed traveling and having new experiences, finding meaning in time shared and memories made. He was also described as a very giving person who loved to serve. A true foodie, he looked forward to Houston Restaurant Week, and he brought the same joy to celebration that he did to everyday life—especially in his love of dancing. Above all, Eloy loved God and loved attending his church, living his faith with sincerity and constancy.

Eloy was heavily involved in his community. He was a member of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo and initiated the St. Benedict the Abbot Life Teen Youth Ministry. He also served as a lector and eucharist minister, and was a member of the St. Benedict Pastoral council. He was also a member of the Hispanic Alliance for Career Enhancement (HACE). His presence in these roles reflected a quiet strength—showing up, serving faithfully, and believing that good work, done consistently, matters.

Eloy is survived by his father, Eloy Gutierrez Sr.; his mother, Maria Ruiz Gutierrez; his sister, Maria Gutierrez Estrada; his brother, Rigoberto Gutierrez; his grandmother, Rita Lopez Gutierrez; his sister in law, Paula Akin; his niece, Violet Isabel Gutierrez; his nephew, Richard Royce Estrada; his godsons, Javier Hernandez, Steven De la Rosa III, Gabriel Chavez, and Christopher Torres; and his goddaughter, Jackeline Delcid Umana; and a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Visitation will be held at Forest Park South Funeral Home, 12650 Shadow Creek Parkway, Pearland, TX 77584, on September 15, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm. A Rosary will be prayed on September 15, 2026, at 6:30 pm, and again on September 16, 2026, at 11:00 am. The Funeral Service will be held at St Benedict Catholic Church, 4025 Grapevine St, Houston, TX 77045, on September 16, 2026, from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm. Committal Service will follow at Houston Memorial Gardens, 2426 Cullen Blvd, Pearland, TX 77581, on September 16, 2026, from 2:00 pm to 2:30 pm.

The family would like to give special thanks to all of the family and friends that helped and supported them through these challenging moments in their lives.
