Gladys was a feisty, outgoing lady, who loved to talk. She never met a stranger. She loved to cook and was often making “plate lunches” for coworkers and neighbors. If she had it, you had it often at her insistence.
Gladys valued education and obtained her Licensed Vocational Nurse license and later a Bachelor of Science (Nursing) from Texas Woman’s University in 1981. After holding various nursing positions in Dallas, TX and Houston, TX, she pursued additional education and received a Master of Business Administration degree from Amberton University in 2002. After a life-long journey of learning, working, and mentoring, Gladys retired from the Veterans Administration Hospital in Houston, TX in 2020.
Gladys was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Cora House; and her sister Delores House Van Buren (Larry).
Left to treasure the memories of Gladys are: her brothers Edward House, Sr. of Tyler, TX and James House (Charmetria) of Houston, TX; sister Linda House Rush (Artis) of Tyler, TX; beloved aunt Maggie Johnson of Tyler, TX, along with many cherished nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.
