John Stevens LeBlanc

John Stevens LeBlanc was born on January 8, 1968 in Salt Lake City, Utah. He was the fourth son of Alvin Lee LeBlanc II and Felma Ruth Fontenot LeBlanc. John developed his character from the root meaning of his name. John translates as "God is gracious." John's life reflects the meaning of those words in the following ways.

There are two paths in life - Service to Self or Service to Others. John chose Service to Others.

First, and foremost John's legacy of life reflects love, modesty, integrity, selflessness, service to all, and never complaining. He always wore a magnetic smile that radiated from his soul, highlighting his gorgeous dimples.

John graduated from Willowridge High School and received a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette on a four year scholarship. John was employed and retired from Lafayette Consolidated Government. John consistently maintained certification in Water Production Class 4 from Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals Office of Public Health - Engineering Services. As the supervisor of the water plant, John's leader's motto was "I surround myself with capable people; trust them to do their job; give them the tools and get out of the way."

John was a trustee for the Southwest Section of the American Water Works Association. He was presented the "Gold Star Award" as the winner of the "Three State Membership Contest" as the top recruiter for the state of Louisiana resulting in the largest net gain in membership in 2014-2015.

John had a passion for the Arts. He spent countless hours and days working on creative projects, including stage plays and film productions such as "God Bless the Truth" and "It Takes a Good Man to Raise One".

As a son, John inherited characteristics from both his father and mother that molded him into a great man.

As a brother, even though he was the youngest of four brothers, he carried a significant amount of responsibility for their wellbeing.

As a father, he was more than just a father. Drake and Kori had guidance, support, and kindness that helped shape their lives in countless ways. They are grateful for every conversation, every moment, and every action they were blessed to share with their father.

As an uncle, John took the initiative to ensure younger generations understood the importance of close family bonds. One of his wishes was that his nieces and nephews stay unified; and we will continue to honor our beloved uncle by holding each other close.

As a cousin, John brought love, light and laughter. He was more like a brother than a cousin. Shared secrets and a shared history that went far beyond ordinary family ties. Someone we could always count on.

As a friend, John was there through every season, every challenge, and in so many different ways. A lifelong support who stood by you through hard times, celebrations, and major life changes. His presence brought comfort, laughter, and strength to so many of us.

From a sweet baby boy born in Salt Lake City, Utah. John developed into a giant of a man who made a significant difference in the many lives he touched. John, you will forever hold a special place in our hearts. We are grateful for the moments we were blessed to share with John. John's legacy of love will continue to live through all of us.

He was preceded in death by his parents Alvin Lee LeBlanc II and Felma Ruth Fontenot LeBlanc, and his brothers Micheal Keith LeBlanc and Mark Anthony LeBlanc. Cherishing the life and memory of John Stevens LeBlanc are his brother Alvin Lee LeBlanc III, and children Kori Green and Drake LeBlanc. John also leaves a host of family and friends too numerous to count, but not forgotten.
