I knew Mr. Cantu professionally.  He was a very fine lawyer and gentleman.  He will be missed.

My condolences to Judge Cantu’s family.  I am very sorry for your loss.  

I got to know him years ago when I was a new fellow defense lawyer, always asking questions.  He  was never too busy to give advice and encouragement.  I loved his sense of humor, sarcasm and wit.  

He went the  extra mile for his clients, and eagerly defended those without a voice.  Even though we call him Judge,  he was always one of us.

He will be missed.  Rest in peace.

From the depths of my heart, please accept my condolences. Mr. Cantu was adored, respected, and loved by Belinda. His presence will be missed. Sending prayers and comfort to you all in the days and weeks that follow.

Lots of High School Memories with Jose.  He was a good friend, and I was blessed to know him, Belinda and the Cantu family.  Ate several homemade tortillas from the Cantu house and frequented the Caso Ole, and the Road Runner Burger joint.  Lots of Sunday afternoon football games (supposed to have been tag but was usually a little rougher than that) at the high school.  Loading up and going to the drive-in theater in my dune buggy and Steven Earles VW.   Just lots of plain simple fun and memories that I am so sorry that many kids in today's world miss out on.

 Just know that I will be praying for you Belinda and all the rest of the family.

Judge Cantù was  a delight in Court, an occasional mentor, and a kind soul.  I will miss him and send hugs to his family and close friends!

Jose, always had funny stories and jokes will be truly missed! Prayers, peace and comfort during this difficult time to the family.

It is so sad to lose Jose.  He was a great guy.  I practiced around him for many years and always kidded him when I sang "Jose Can You See" in place of "Oh Say Can You See" each time I saw him. He had a great personality and will be missed by his family and friends.

He made history in being appointed the first Hispanic Judge for the City of Pasadena, Texas, which position he held many years.

jose and i were in law school together.   he and belinda always welcomed me and other students  in their home for study group or social gatherings.   jose was one of the kindest  people, and he always made me laugh.  RIP Jose Cantu

Judge Cantu I cannot remember the last time we spoke. Your kindness and sincerity will truly be missed Judge. My heartfelt sympathy goes to all who knew and loved you sir!
