

He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Belinda (Novark); seven brothers; Ernie, David, Danny (Sylvia-deceased), Mando (Sheila), Albert, Jaime (April) and Charlie (Perla); two sisters, Maggie McCraw (Emil) and Laya (Cha-Cha) Garcia (Mario – deceased). Also survived by several aunts, uncles and countless cousins, nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his “adopted” daughter, Chikako Iizuka at Tokamachi, Japan and her daughter, Mitsuki.
Jose is preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Laya Cantu, his mother-in-law, Dorothy Novark, father-in-law, Philip Novark, brothers-in-law, James Novark and Mario Garcia, Jr. and sister-in-law, Sylvia Cruz Cantu.
Jose was a joyous man who loved his wife dearly. He enjoyed cooking for neighbors, friends and family. He held his work as attorney and judge in very high regard. He will be deeply missed by his clients, friends, colleagues and loved ones.
Visitation for Jose Cantu, Jr. will be held Tuesday, April 2, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Forest Park South Funeral Home. Rosary service will be held on Tuesday, April 2, 2024 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the funeral home. Graveside service will be held Wednesday, April 3, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM at Danville Shepard Hill Cemetery, 11131 Shepard Hill Rd, Willis, TX 77318. The family is being assisted by Forest Park South Funeral Home 12650 Shadow Creek Parkway, Pearland, TX 77584.
