On November 30, 2025, the Parra family lost their steady and loving foundation, Jose R. Parra, at the age of 78. Born in Ysleta and raised in San Elizario, he carried the spirit of his hometowns with him—humble, hardworking, and deeply rooted in family.
Jose proudly served in the United States Army before graduating from The University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP). He went on to build a long and respected career in accounting, working as a senior accountant for El Paso Energy and Kinetical Energy. His precision, integrity, and steady work ethic were felt by all who worked beside him.
A lifelong baseball lover, Jose proudly played with the Ysleta Merchants and San Elizario baseball teams. He went on to coach Little League and the San Elizario Baseball team, leaving a lasting impact on countless young athletes through his patience, pride, and heart.
Deeply committed to his community, Jose was an active supporter of his local Democratic Party. He believed in civic duty, using one’s voice, and showing up for the people and causes that mattered.
Jose is survived by his loving wife, Maria D Rosario Parra; his sons, David (Sandra) and Damian (Marie) Parra; his grandchildren, Amber, Ariel, Essence, and Judas Parra; his great-granddaughter, Aria Gardner; and his brother, Max Parra. He is also survived by many loved family members, nieces, nephews, and relatives who held a special place in his heart.
His family will forever honor his legacy of discipline, generosity, humility, and unwavering dedication.
He will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
