

Joseph William Gianakos, born on August 17, 1977, in Peoria, Illinois, passed away on July 5, 2025, at the age of 47. An adventurous soul, Joseph went through life with faithful devotion and unwavering loyalty.
In his early years, Joseph attended Kempner High School in Sugar Land, Texas. He later became deeply entwined with his community and lived in Houston, Texas.
Joseph was profoundly dedicated to his beloved wife, Elsa Molina Gianakos, with whom he shared a vibrant and joyful life until her passing on April 20, 2025. Their relationship was a testament to unwavering devotion and shared faith. Together, they attended many churches throughout the years, including Gateway Community Church in Sugar Land and Grace Church in Houston. They embarked on numerous adventures together, relishing in their travels, cruises, and cherished moments at the beach enjoying the scenery. Elsa was more than a partner to Joseph; she was the light and balance in his life, bringing completeness to their shared journey. They were lovingly married for 24 years.
Joseph is survived by his mother, Marianne (Murle) Miles; his father, Chris Gianakos and his wife Mary; his sister, Elise Murle; and his brothers, D. Jules Gianakos and Gabriel Miles.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Elsa Molina Gianakos; his grandfather, Bobb Murle; his grandmother, Vera Murle; and his uncle, Matthew Murle.
A graveside service will be held at Calvary Catholic Cemetery, located at 2506 65th St, Galveston, TX 77551, on July 18, 2025, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm. Joseph will be lovingly laid to rest next to his wife.
Joseph's faithful heart has left an indelible mark on all who knew and loved him.
