This is a photo from our last work team outing in January, 2025. Lee was always smiling, always kind, and always lent a listening ear. The office is not the same without his cheerful "Good mornings" and his excitement about Texans games that he shared with us all. He was a light within our office and will be greatly missed. Our deepest sympathies and healing thoughts are with his family and friends during this most difficult of times.

I have gotten to know Lee over the past year and a half, we started at Houston Methodist around the same time. Lee had such a welcoming presence to anyone he came in contact with.  He was such a kind and genuine person, was always very thoughtful and considerate of others and took the time to ask questions. He always had a warm smile and joyful greeting and I always knew after speaking with Lee I would walk away encouraged. We talked about our families often and I knew how much his family meant to him as we would speak of them with great love and respect. Thank you Lee for letting your light shine, our office will be dimmer without you but we can each be inspired to continue your legacy and be intentional by spreading joy and kindness.

Over the past 12 months, as a new employee at Houston Methodist, I had the pleasure of getting to know Lee. From the very beginning, Lee became an integral part of my morning routine. His cheerful "good morning" and daily check-ins on the way to my office were something I looked forward to each day.

Lee had a remarkable ability to make everyone feel valued and cared for. He was always quick to offer help, genuinely asking how you were doing, and checking on your family. His concern for our well-being, both at work and at home, was truly touching.

Getting to know Lee was a joy, and his presence brought warmth and positivity to our office. His kindness and thoughtfulness will be deeply missed by all of us.

Lee was more than a coworker to me; he was a brother in Christ. I believe God puts people in our lives on purpose and I know Lee was placed in my life by God. He was always encouraging to me and showed kindness and humility to all who crossed his path. He fervently advised me to seek God's will in all situations. When we needed a prayer partner, we were there for each other, when we needed a praise partner, we were there for each other.  He loved his children very much and spoke of his parents and grandmother often and was very proud of all of them. Lee's light was not boastful and yet shined the brightest. He reminded me that if you look for the light and the kindness in people you will surely find it. The point is to make sure you are looking for the good in people and not the bad.

Lee was a kind and positive presence at work. He was always ready with a smile or friendly word. His warmth and generosity touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. He will be greatly missed, but his legacy of kindness will continue to inspire me.
