Nanthiya Nan Post, age 69, of Houston, Texas passed away on Saturday February 3, 2024. Nan was born and raised in Bangkok, Thailand. She came from a large family of 14. As a teenager Nan would travel back and forth from Asia to Europe to work and help her mother take care of the family. She was a beautician and skilled in housekeeping. While living in Italy she met her husband Lee D. Post who was serving in the U.S Army. They were married for 33 years. They eventually made their way to Killeen, Texas where they established roots and raised their children. She worked on Fort Hood as the KP shift leader and retired after 20 years. Throughout her journey Nan got her US citizenship which was a huge accomplishment for her. She was a devoted Buddhist and enjoyed chanting Nam-mayo-range-kyo. Her hobbies included shopping at Ross, Burlington, TJMax and the PX. She loved cooking Thai food and everyone who knew her had their favorite meal. She loved caramel frappuccinos, sweet desserts and deep fried whole fish from the Thai restaurant. Nan definitely stamped her name in the U.S.A. Nan was a wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt and a real friend. She imparted a stoic, strong, and peaceful presence to those around her. She is survived by her daughters Selana Cross and Ledra Post, son Michael Post and family, grandson Connor Gallien, son in-law, sisters, brother, nieces and nephews.
Nan admired Sunflowers, the colors navy blue and pink. In honor of her we will be wearing navy blue for those who would like to participate.
