Our beloved mother, Rosa Miranda, passed peacefully on Monday, December 1, 2025, surrounded by the love of her children and grandchildren. She was 89 years old, born on June 3, 1936, in San Benito, Texas.
Rosa’s life was a testament to resilience, devotion, and quiet strength. She attended school until the third grade, then went on to work as an agricultural laborer to help support and raise her siblings. In her young adulthood, she moved to Chicago, where she worked in various factories before ultimately settling in the Houston area, where she served as a custodian. She later joined Memorial Hermann Hospital, working in linen services until her well-earned retirement.
A single mother of eight children, Rosa dedicated her life to her family. Though she may not have been the one to “light up a room,” she left a lasting impact on everyone she met. Her greatest joy came from her children and grandchildren, for whom she lived each day with purpose.
Rosa enjoyed reading her daily devotionals, tending to her garden with a natural green thumb, and staying active in her faith. She was a proud and devoted Guadalupana member, and her strong spiritual foundation guided her throughout her life.
Rosa is preceded in death by her parents, Jesus Miranda and Josefa Aguirre; four brothers, Alfonso Miranda, Guadalupe Miranda, Prudencio Miranda, and Jesus Miranda, Jr.; three sisters, Hortencia Rincones, Josefa Adame, and Graciela M. Vasquez; and her son, Fidel Segovia. She is survived by her loving children: Benito Gonzales (Isabel), Salvador Segovia, Jr. (Gloria), Martin Segovia (Jocelyn), Mary Segovia, Martha Washington (Michael), Nora Segovia, and Maricela Centeno (Luis). She also leaves behind numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren who will forever cherish her memory.
Rosa Miranda leaves behind a legacy of love, perseverance, and quiet grace. She will be deeply missed and forever cherished by her family and all who were blessed to know her.
May she rest in eternal peace.
