

Sandra Alene Lovelace, beloved mother, grandmother, and educator, passed away on March 11, 2024, in Sugar Land, Texas, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on November 23, 1941, in Quanah, Texas, to Geneva and Floyd Daniel.
Sandra's life was characterized by her unwavering dedication to education and her deep love for her family. She started her college career at the University of Texas at Austin and graduated with a Bachelor's Degree of Education from Southern Methodist University in 1964. She later received a Master's Degree of Educational Psychology from the University of Houston, reflecting her lifelong commitment to learning.
On June 17, 1961, Sandra married Byron Keith Lovelace, with whom she shared over 60 wonderful years until his passing. Together they raised three children: Kirk, Beth (married to Mike Howell), and Amy (married to Philip Dawson). Sandra was a devoted mother who instilled in her children the values of kindness, compassion, and the importance of education.
Throughout her career, Sandra touched the lives of countless students and staff as a dedicated Teacher, Reading and Math Specialist, Diagnostician, and School Psychologist. Her passion for education left a lasting impact on the communities she served.
Outside of her professional life, Sandra found joy and fulfillment in her hobbies. She was an avid quilter and reader and also loved to bake and garden. Above all, Sandra cherished spending time with her six grandchildren: Katie, Emily, and Kyle Howell, and Chase, Cameron, and Connor Dawson. She adored them and took great pride in watching them grow and thrive.
Sandra will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but her legacy of love, wisdom, and dedication to others will remain for generations to come. May she rest in peace knowing that her kindness and impact will forever live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her.
A celebration of Sandra's life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on April 7, 2024, at Forest Park South Funeral Home, 12650 Shadow Creek Parkway, Pearland, Texas. A reception and visitation will immediately follow the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to The Houston Area Parkinson Society in Sandra's memory.
