Sharon Isabel Woltz

Sharon Isabel Woltz was born on April 15, 1940 in Omer, Michigan to Howard and Marie Staebler. She graduated high school from Tawas High School. She went on to earn a Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Central Michigan University. She married Gordon Woltz in 1972 in Oscoda, Michigan. Sharon was an elementary school teacher for 33 years, with the majority of her time teaching 5th grade Language Arts. She began her teaching career in Oscoda, Michigan and retired from teaching in Spring, Texas. After retirement, Sharon moved to Charlottesville, Virginia.

Her family and friends were the most important part of her life. She actively participated in their lives by attending her grandkids’ and great grandkids’ sporting events, never missed a call from her kids or friends, even if it was just chatting while on their way home, and she loved to relax in the evenings with a glass of wine.

She was an avid reader, especially mysteries, and enjoyed watching British mystery TV shows. She was an enthusiastic sports fan, following various sports like football, baseball, rugby, and polo, and she never missed hosting her annual Kentucky Derby party. She loved exploring new and exciting places, and traveled both throughout the country and internationally.

Sharon was an amazing mother, sister, wife, grammy, gigi, and friend! She was so full of life and love! She taught us all about unconditional love, forgiveness, and faith in God. We are all better people because of her.

Sharen went to be with our Lord on the afternoon of September 2, 2023. Sharon is survived by her brother, Kevin Staebler; her daughter, Melanie Fracassa; her son Mike Eiden; her daughter Allison Orta; her daughter, Leslie Eiden; her son, Steve Woltz, her daughter Cyndi Getz, and her 9 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

We will be having a service for Sharon to celebrate her life in Charlottesville, Virginia on October 7, from 11:00 – 1:00. It will be at the Forest Lakes North Pavilion, 1828 Pavilion Circle, Charlottesville, Virginia 22911.
