

PEKIN ~ Al Boehle, Jr., 68 of Pekin, passed away at 2:12 a.m., Thursday, June 16, 2011 at Proctor Hospital in Peoria.
Born November 9, 1942 in Peoria to Alfred G. and Mary (Keith) Boehle, he married Mary Ann Lumley on October 16, 1965. He later married Glenda L. Bailey on April 7, 2006 in Pekin. She survives.
Also surviving are three daughters, Jana Tanner of Texas, Lynn Ann (Brian) McCloskey of Springfield, Suzannah (James) Kerr of East Peoria; two sons, Michael (Samantha) Boehle of Pekin, Robert "Bob" Boehle of Austin, TX; three step-children, Angelique Counterman of Pekin, Michelle (Doug Soldal) Bailey of Delavan and Adam (Theresa) Bailey of Pekin; one sister, Shirley (Steve) Pettijohn of Creve Coeur; seven grandsons; four granddaughters and one great-grandson.
Al was preceded in death by his parents.
He was a United States Air Force veteran, serving as a telecommunications operator.
He worked at WABCO. Prior to that, he had worked at Kiger Glass in Pekin and Hysters.
An avid bowler, Al also was a coach for his son's baseball team. He was a board member for the Lupus Foundation of Pekin/Peoria and active in numerous other fundraisers.
A private memorial service will be held. There will be no visitation. Cremation has been accorded by Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
