

MARQUETTE HEIGHTS ~ Albert LeRoy Morris, 76, of Marquette Heights, passed away at 5:18 p.m. Monday, April 2, 2012 at Morton Villa.
Born April 28, 1935 in Mason County to Leo and Jane (Williamson) Morris, he married Neva Ellen Riley on September 1, 1956 in Havana. She died April 3, 2007 in Pekin. He also was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Matthew Morris; one grandson, Abram Wood; and one sister, Nelda Cichocki.
Surviving are two sons, Tracy (Pam) Morris of Bath and Kyle Morris of Marquette Heights; two daughters, Kathleen (Larry) Wood of Arkansas and Kristine (Ron) Nyberg of Marquette Heights; eleven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; three sisters, Vera Clark of Astoria, Betty Jane Hall of Kissimmee, Florida and Anna Lee Bouslog of Urbana; two brothers, Wayne (Shirley) Morris of Marquette Heights and Russell Morris of St. Charles and his mother-in-law, Mary Fletcher of Pekin.
A member of the Teamsters and Chauffeurs Union, Local 627, Albert was a truck driver in Peoria for 38 years, retiring in 1995.
A people watcher, Albert liked working with his hands. He enjoyed fixing up lawn mowers and doing woodworking. He was an outdoorsman and had a true love for animals.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, April 6, 2012 at Laurel Hill Cemetery in Havana. Rev. Zach Hoffman will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday evening at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
