

Born August 24, 1926 in Pekin to John W. and Lula (Hoyle) Gensel, she married Manuel F. Jackson on February 16, 1945 in Pekin. He died January 24, 2006 in Peoria. She was also preceded in death by her parents; one great-granddaughter; one brother and one infant sister.
Surviving are two daughters, Marcia (Russell) Lindahl of Pekin and Paulette (James) Cooley of Bloomington; seven grandchildren, Matthew (Aleigh) Stauffer of Flower Mound, TX, Michael (Denise) Stauffer and Marcella (John) Wickiser, both of Pekin, Jodi (Mark) Hasler of East Peoria, Chad Robinson of Towanda, Kelli (Matthew) McDaniel of Havana and Todd Robinson of Bloomington; 11 great-grandchildren, Casey, Jesse, Carli, Ellie and Amber Stauffer, Alice and Mary Wickiser, Cody Stum, Cole and Kayla McDaniel and Alex Robinson and one great-great-grandson, Jaiden Ramey.
A homemaker, Alice was a dedicated to her family, to her church and to her Lord. She was a very loving and generous woman and loved reading her Bible and praying.
Alice was a charter member of Pekin Bible Church and had attended the church since its beginning in 1933. She taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School and was active in the church’s Mary Martha Circle, along with accompanying her husband as they visited the sick and homebound.
Her funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, January 5, 2017 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Pastor Chad D. Nightingale will officiate. Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin.
