Born January 1, 1939 in Timbo, Arkansas to Robert and Nora (Ingram) Bradshaw, he married Sharon Ann Severns on November 26, 1960 in South Pekin. She survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Cindy (Greg) Dietz of Greenwood, South Carolina and Diane (Perry) Steinsultz of Pekin; one son, Tim (Joni) Bradshaw of Peoria; five grandchildren, Hali Bradshaw of Peoria Heights, Megan (Josh) Eckhoff of South Pekin, Eric Dietz of Portland, Oregon, Alex Dietz of Ithaca, New York and Perry Steinsultz, Jr. of Pekin and one great-granddaughter, Emily Eckhoff.
He was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers, Vernon Bradshaw, Kenneth Bradshaw, Bruce Bradshaw, Lloyd Bradshaw and Rayburn Bradshaw and one sister, Bonnie Jackson.
He had served in the United States Air Force from 1956 to 1960.
Al worked for Caterpillar, Inc. for 30 years as a welder, retiring in 2003. He also did self-employed carpentry work for many years.
He was a member of Faith Baptist Church, where he was a former Deacon and Trustee. He also served the church as a Sunday school teacher, driver for the bus ministry, a Junior Church leader and Truth Trackers leader for many years.
Al was devoted to his family, enjoyed woodworking, gardening, tractors and farming.
His funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, September 29, 2022 at Faith Baptist Church in Pekin. Pastor Timothy P. Collard will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday evening at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Burial will be at Woodrow Cemetery in rural Pekin, with military rites accorded by the United States Air Force and the Tazewell Area Ceremonial Team.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Faith Baptist Church or to Faith Baptist Christian School, both located at 1501 Howard Court, Pekin, IL 61554.
