

Born July 31, 1936 in Pekin, she was the daughter of John M. and Carolyn (Ramshaw) Hoffert. Her parents preceded her in death. She also was preceded in death by two sisters, Marlene Schwenk and Dawn Tharp.
Surviving are five sons, Thomas C. (Mary) Justus, Jr. of Canton, Rodney K. (Linda) Justus of Mackinaw, Bryan D. Justus of Las Vegas, Nevada, Daniel S. (Teresa) Justus of Gilbert, Arizona and Steven P. (Martha) Justus of Chandler, Arizona; eleven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
Amelia retired as a sales representative from Metropolitan Life Insurance Company with 21 years of service. She continued on working for Metropolitan part-time for several years before moving to Mesa full-time.
She was a member of Sunland Village East Chapel in Mesa. Amelia was a former member of St. Paul United Church of Christ of Pekin, where she was a former Sunday school teacher. Amelia enjoyed dancing and was a proud to have been a former den mother.
Her graveside service will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday, July 15, 2024 at Lakeside Cemetery in Pekin. Pastor Randy Justus will officiate. Visitation will be from noon to 1 p.m. Monday at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
