Angela Elizabeth Boerger

Born July 9, 1963 in Shakopee, Minnesota, she was the daughter of Gaylord and Phyllis (Reiners) Boerger.

Surviving are her mother, Phyllis Boerger of Pekin; two sisters, Gaylene (Jim) Ujcik of Edwards and Chris (Norm) Ulrich of Marquette Heights; three brothers, Rod (Deb) Boerger of Decatur, Jeff (Angel) Boerger of Pflugerville, Texas and Ryan (Kary) Boerger of Pekin and her nieces and nephews, Andrea (Tom) Mullaney of Seattle, Washington, Jonathan (Allison) Boerger of Pekin, Jeffrey Boerger of Fulshear, Texas, Jesse (Brady) Harmon of Clarksville, Tennessee, Justine (Dan Deibert) Ulrich, Zachary (Tori Seago) Ulrich, both of Florissant, Missouri, Caleb (engaged to Baylie Zientara) Boerger of Pekin, Seth (engaged to Kitt-Lynne Lynch) Boerger, Matthew Boerger, both of Decatur and Abigail Boerger of Pekin and great-nephew, Colson Mercado of Decatur.

Her father preceded her in death.

Angie was a Pekin Community High School graduate in 1981.

She then continued her education at the University of Illinois in Champaign where she received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemistry and then two Master of Science Degrees in both Chemistry and Chemistry Education.

Angie was a professor at Loyola University in Chicago for more than 20 years mostly teaching Chemistry Labs for freshman students. She was passionate about science and education.

She was devoted to her family and cherished her time spent with them. Angie enjoyed knitting, cooking, reading, and caring for her plants. She also was a teacher of tai chi.

Her memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 24, 2025 at Pekin Bible Church. Pastor Chad Nightingale will officiate. Visitation will be held from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. Saturday at the church. Cremation has been accorded. Arrangements have been entrusted to Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
