Anna S Grigg

Born September 16, 1926 in Detroit, Michigan to Frank and Bertha (Campbell) Southern, she married Lowell Grigg on July 12, 1952 in Rantoul. He preceded in her death on January 20, 2004 in Pekin.

Surviving are 1 daughter, Carol (Joe) McGrath of Pekin and Virden; 1 son, Steven (Diane) Grigg of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; and 7 grandchildren, Timothy, Shawn, Joshua, and Angela Grigg and Anne, Geno and Dominic Alesandrini.

Anna last worked as a secretary at Frank Thayer State Farm Insurance agency, retiring in 1986.  Previously, she had worked in the library at Edison School, and as a secretary for Griffin-Sutton Insurance Company, all in Pekin.

As a believer in Jesus Christ, she was an active member of the Congregational United Church of Christ in Pekin.

Anna enjoyed traveling, playing cards, sewing, and cooking for her friends and church family.

She had a wonderful sense of humor and enjoyed sharing it with her family and many friends.

Her family would like to gratefully acknowledge the love and care provided by OSF Hospice.

Cremation will be accorded.  A celebration of Life Gathering will be from 3 to 7 p.m., Saturday, January 24, 2009 at the Congregational United Church of Christ in Pekin. Graveside services will be at a later date in Bethany Cemetery in Assumption.
