She was born August 5, 1916 in rural Saybrook to Bertie and James O. (Harris) Bennett. She married Coy E. Torbert at Bowling Green, Missouri on June 1, 1942. He died September 5, 1966 in Clinton. Arline was also preceded in death by her parents, one sister, and three brothers.
Surviving are her daughter, Connie (David) Perkins of Pekin; her son, Edward (Lauri) Torbert of Clinton; her grandchildren, Dan and Micah Perkins, Malinda (Perkins) Grosh, Alex and Drew Torbert and eight great-grandchildren.
Her funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday, October 28th at Lane Christian Church in Lane, Illinois. Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral at the church. Interment will be in Mausoleum Park, Woodlawn Cemetery in Clinton. Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin is in charge of arrangements.
