Arthur V Barnard

Born November 6, 1930 in West Frankfurt to Arthur and Lucille (Sminchak) Barnard, he married Rella S. Sloan on March 24, 1981 in Peoria.  She survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Kenneth O. (Kathy) Barnard of East Peoria and Danny A. (Faith) Barnard of Creve Coeur; five grandchildren, Kassandra, Kenneth, Kimberly, Allen and Anna Barnard; two sisters, C-Etta (Garlen) Jungers and Rosie (Frank Coatney) Lemons, both of North Pekin and one brother, Byford (Doris) Barnard of West Frankfurt.  He also leaves four children from a previous marriage.

His parents preceded him in death.

Art last worked as a welder for Sommer Products in Bartonville.  He previously worked at Caterpillar, Inc.

Art’s hobby was helping people and especially taking care of kids.

His funeral will be at 3 p.m. Saturday, January 31, 2009 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Creve Coeur Chapel.  The Rev. Tim Livengood will officiate.  Visitation will be one hour before the funeral.  Cremation will be accorded following the funeral.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the funeral home to help defray funeral expenses.
