Ashlyn Nicole Payne

PEKIN ~ Ashlyn Nicole Payne, 18, of 1107 Truman Drive, passed away at 2:45 a.m. Tuesday, October 20, 2009 at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria.She was born August 15, 1991 in Pekin to John and Kimberly (Wesso) Rhoades.Surviving are her parents of Pekin; one daughter, Lyla Nicole Majewski; three sisters, Madison Rhoades, Jayden Rhoades and Camryn Rhoades, all of Pekin; her maternal grandparents, Bill and Connie Wesso of East Peoria and Dave and Sue Scott of Green Valley; her paternal grandparents, Danny and Judy Payne of Marquette Heights and Glen and Marcia Rhoades of Green Valley; her maternal great-grandmother, Cleo Murphy of Pekin and her paternal great-grandmother, Lois Scott of East Peoria.  She also leaves her special love and Lyla’s father, Chris Majewski.Ashlyn was a 2009 graduate of Midwest Central High School in Manito, where she was selected as artist of the year.  Along with excelling at art, Ashlyn enjoyed singing and dancing and while a freshman and sophomore at Pekin Community High School was a part of the Noteables.Ashlyn was last employed by Subway in Pekin and was looking forward to attending beauty school.Her memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, October 25, 2009 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel.  The Rev. Robert DeBolt of Crossroads United Methodist Church in Washington will officiate.  Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday, October 24, 2009 at the funeral home.  Cremation will be accorded.The family suggests memorial contributions be made to an education fund established for her daughter in care of Redbrand Credit Union, 820 McKinley, Bartonville, IL 61607.
