Avis A Laumeier

Born February 9, 1936 in Sturgis, Michigan to Malcom and Virginia (Rose) Sumney, she married Earl S. Laumeier on July 2, 1955 in Pekin. He survives.

Also surviving are several nieces, nephews and friends and her beloved cat, Stan.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Dana Laumeier on September 22, 2011 in Peoria; and one sister, Cinda Knoll.

Avis was a realtor in the Pekin area for many years working for several real estate offices, including Oberle & Mayberry and Mayberry & Associates.

She was a member of the Pekin Women of the Moose Chapter 673.

Avis loved to travel and go fishing in Wisconsin. She also enjoyed working in the yard, reading and playing cards.

Her memorial service will be at 3 p.m. Saturday, May 2, 2015 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Rev. Gary Ford will officiate. Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Private burial of cremated remains will be in Prairie Haven Cemetery in Pekin.
