Barbara Crandell

Born August 7, 1931, in Delavan to Albert E. and Helen M. (Kohloff) Larimore, she married Joseph D. Crandell on July 7, 1950, in Peoria. He died December 13, 2021. She was also preceded in death by her parents, one brother, James L. Larimore and one son-in-law, Peter Loncke.

Surviving are three daughters, Linda (James) Curto of Pekin, Constance Loncke of Groveland and Nancy (Jeff) LaGrow of Morton; one son Joseph L. (Debi) Crandell of East Peoria; 11 grandchildren, Joann Moss, Julie Maag, Christopher Curto, Jennifer Barker, Jessica Campbell, Joshua Crandell, Cyndi Young, Alec Marvin, Brady Marvin, Amanda LaGrow, Sarah Gaunt and 19 great-grandchildren.

Barbara spent her years as a homemaker, happily caring for her family. She was a loving and nurturing mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, always there, willing to help in any and every way.

During their 71 years of marriage, Barbara and Joseph were privileged to travel to all 50 states, as well as Mexico, Canada, and many other countries in Europe. They enjoyed including their children and grandchildren on many of their adventures.

Barbara graduated from Woodruff High School. As a teenager she worked at Boss Mfg. Co. and Block and Kuhl’s in Peoria. She had been employed by Pekin Daily Times for 10 years from 1970 to 1980.

Her private graveside service will be at Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin. Arrangements have been entrusted to Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory.
