

Born February 4, 1934 in Barrie, Ontario, Canada to John Joseph and Dora Vivian (Cooper) Davis, she married Wilbur Russell “Bill” Harmon July 30, 1954 at Lockbourne Air Force
Base in Ohio. He died August 16, 2021 in Pekin. She also was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter-in-law, Carol Jo Harmon; one brother, Robert Davis and sister, Mary Davis.
Surviving are two sons, John Charles Harmon of Canton and Robert Ray Harmon of Pekin; four grandchildren, Amy Nicole (Jesse) Norman of Brisbane, Australia, Breahnna (Nick) Gorrie of Marquette Heights, Boyd Russell (Markay) Harmon of Pekin and Brady Reed (Jesse) Harmon of Destin, Florida; seven great-grandchildren, Watson Gorrie, Wyatt Gorrie, Warren Gorrie, Levi Harmon, Oliver Harmon, Reed Harmon and Exley John Norman and two sisters, Margaret Cleveland and Cathy Davis, both of Canada.
As a faithful member of First United Methodist Church in Pekin since 1957, Barb had served as a former church secretary there. She then worked as an administrative secretary for Redeemer Lutheran Church in Peoria from 1976 until retiring in 1986. Throughout her life, Barb served with a steady devotion and quiet professionalism. Barb also was a longtime volunteer and supporter of the Pekin Civic Chorus.
Barb’s legacy will be carried on in the warmth she brought to others. She was known for her great sense of humor, and for her creative expression through poetry. Barb loved to write poems, and her work was published with Young Adults Poetry and Women’s Magazine.
A memorial service celebrating her life will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 22, 2026 at First United Methodist Church in Pekin. Pastor Sean Peters and Pastor Judy Doyle will officiate. Visitation will be one hour before the memorial service Saturday, August 22, 2026 at the church. Private inurnment will be in Prairie Haven Cemetery in Pekin. Arrangements have been entrusted to Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
