Bernard Michael Happach

Born September 8, 1946 in Pekin to Bernard Sebastian and Elma (Woodfill) Happach, he married Sheila Harding. She died on April 23, 1977. He then married Deborah Betson on May 12, 1981 in Pekin. She survives.

Also surviving are two children, Bernard Charles (Shana) Happach and Nancy (Tyson) Carle, both of Pekin and four grandchildren, Felicity (Troy) Bennett of Mt. Zion, Elijah Carle, Lincoln Carle and Landon Carle, all of Pekin.

He was also preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Jamie Happach on December 13, 1968 and one sister, Donna Snodgrass.

Bernard was a veteran of the United States Air Force.

He was the longtime owner and operator of 14th Street Hardware, Sheet Metal and Steel in Pekin. He retired in 1994.

He enjoyed watching baseball and hockey, especially the Chicago Blackhawks. He also enjoyed watching Westerns and working on computers.

His memorial visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, June 24, 2022 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Cremation has been accorded.
