

Born April 20, 1913 in Breeds to Adam Isaiah and Dollie Mae Upson Deal, she married Clarence R. Prather on May 17, 1930 in Canton. He died November 8, 1983 in Pekin. She was also preceded in death by her parents, one daughter (Marjorie Lawson), three brothers, and six sisters.
Surviving are two sisters, Iva (Robert) Mounts of Creve Coeur and Barbara (Donald) Baker of East Peoria; two grandchildren, Linda (Mike) Griffin of Steilacoom, Washington and Diane (Clark) Blakely of Tacoma, Washington; two great-grandchildren, Colt and Joshua; and a nephew, Clifton (Kathy) Burton of Metamora.
A homemaker, Bertha was a member of First Christian Church Disciples of Christ in Pekin, where she had attended Sunday school and was a member of the Christian Women's Fellowship.
Bertha enjoyed cooking, baking, knitting Afghans, and doing bead crafting.
Her graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin. The Rev. Steve Bridwell will officiate.
