“BB” to all who knew her, never met a stranger. Her quick-witted sense of humor with her southern charm made her everyone’s favorite. In fact, her most frequently repeated review was “They all just love me!”
BB enjoyed many things in her life, gardening, bargain hunting, bird watching and baking her famous pineapple upside down cakes for anyone who brightened her day. Most importantly, BB loved being Mamaw.
She was a strong, determined and fiercely independent woman. She will be missed by her family everyday.
BB’s family would like to thank the medical staff at UnityPoint Health in Pekin and Peoria for their compassionate care of their beloved Mother and Mamaw. They would like to thank everyone at the UAW Senior Citizen Center for their kindness and the friendships made with the very social “Miss Alabama.”
Also, a special thank you to Transitions Hospice for the outstanding care and comfort they provided.
Her graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, February 25, 2021 at Green Valley Cemetery. Pastor Chris Sansom will officiate. Private visitation will be at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
Memorial contributions may be given to charity of the donor’s choice.
