Betty Barker Reed

GREEN VALLEY ~ Betty Reed, 79 of Green Valley passed away at 11:10 a.m., Saturday, June 16, 2012 at Pekin Manor.

Born November 25, 1932 in Pekin to Charles and Fannie (Mulligan) Barker, she married Albert Callaway in April, 1956 in Pekin.  She later married Robert Reed on November 25, 1975 in Pekin.  He died April 27, 2011 in Peoria.

She was also preceded in death by 1 brother, 1 sister, and 1 grandson.

Surviving are 3 daughters, Peggy (Dave) Avery, Vickie Garlock, and Judy Blazevich, all of Pekin; 1 step-son, Greg Reed of Peoria; 1step-daughter, Vickie Davis of Nova Scotia;13 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; 6 brothers, Bob, Dick, Bill, George, Gary and Gene Barker and 1 sister, Peggy Zigley.

She was of the Methodist faith.

Betty worked as a school bus driver in Pekin and Peoria for many years.

Betty enjoyed auctions, antiquing, flea markets and garage sales.

Her funeral will be at 11 a.m., Wednesday at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Rev. Steve Weber will officiate. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the funeral. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery in Pekin.
