Betty A Bock

Born October 27, 1924 in Taylorville to Alvin and Elizabeth (Davis) Jones, she married William Merle Bock on September 27, 1947 in Pekin. He died February 3, 2005 in Pekin. She was also preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Beverly Franks.

Surviving are one daughter, Christie (Phil) Webb of Pekin; two grandchildren, Nate (Brittany) Webb and Jackie (Arron) Workman, both of Pekin; three great-grandchildren, Logan Webb, Jackson Workman, and Tinley Webb; and one sister, Wilma Maloney of Moline.

A 1942 graduate of Pekin Community High School, Betty had celebrated her 70th class reunion this year.

Betty had worked at Pekin Insurance for 13 years, retiring in 1989 from the Accounting Department. Previously, she worked the Pekin Kmart and at the Tazewell County Clerk’s Office.

She attended First United Methodist Church in Pekin. She was a former member of the Tazewell County Democratic Women’s Club.

Betty enjoyed playing bingo, traveling, and attending her grandchildren’s activities. She was an avid St. Louis Cardinal’s baseball fan.

Her memorial service will be at 6 p.m. Friday, January 4, 2013 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. The Rev. Judy Doyle will officiate. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. A committal service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Glendale Memorial Gardens Mausoleum in Pekin.
