Born March 18, 1930 in Pekin to Oscar Joseph and Hazel Jeanette (Taylor) Shults, she married John William Hallmark in 1951. They later divorced.
Surviving are two daughters, Tracey (Lee) Juchems of Pekin and Susan Sidell of Canton; one son, Terry (Marla) Hallmark of Roseburg, Oregon; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; five brothers and one sister and one infant sister.
A homemaker, Betty occasionally worked cleaning homes for several families in Pekin.
She enjoyed spending time at the Miller Senior Citizens Center in Pekin and taking bus trips with Fon du Lac Park District. Her greatest joy in life was spending quality time with her family.
Betty formerly attended Church of God in Pekin.
Her memorial service will be at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 13, 2021 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Rev. Carolyn Roper-Fowlkes will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Guidelines regarding social distancing and wearing of masks will be followed. Burial will be at Spring Lake Cemetery in rural Manito.
