

She was born Dec. 1, 1927 in Pekin to Everett and Etta (Bloomer) Smith. She first married Fred Lietz May 3, 1949. She later married Charles Pruvost Aug. 15, 1976 in Pekin. She then married William Harmon of Pekin. He survives along with one daughter, Julia Mitchell of Pekin, one brother, Gerald (Shirley) Smith of Crest Hill, IL, five sisters: Mary Etta Bechtel, Marie (Robert) Hacker, Barbara (Ed) Long, all of Pekin, Donna Anderson of Phoenix, AZ, Terri (Steve) Pfeiffer of Glen Ellyn, IL, three grandchildren: Laura (Leonard) Smith of Pekin, Russell (Lori) Mitchell of Manito, Bettie Hoover of Goose Creek, SC, seven great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.
Betty was a C.N.A. in the Pekin area up until her retirement. She was a lifetime member of the Women of the Moose, member of the Pekin then later the Peoria Eagles, Marine Corps. Auxiliary, Pekin Union Mission Sunday School, she was a former Girl Scout Leader, loved crafts, flower arrangements, and crocheting, and was a member of the First Christian Church in Pekin.
Funeral services will be Wednesday April 6, 2011 at 2 p.m. at Woolsey Funeral Home in Pekin. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services on Wednesday at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery in Pekin.
