Bonnie M Calvin

TREMONT ~ Bonnie M. Calvin, 64, of 204 S. Harris, passed away at 3:01 p.m. Thursday, June 10, 2010 at Methodist Medical Center in Peoria.Born Feb. 12, 1946 in Pekin to Max R. and Wilma J. (Johnson) Buffum, she married Alvin Calvin, Sr. on Jan. 14, 1961 in Peoria.Surviving are two sons, Marty L. Calvin of East Peoria and Robert A. "Rob" (Susan) Calvin of Pekin; one daughter, Jeanne M. (Rob) Choate of Pekin; six grandchildren, Jordan Calvin, Autumn Calvin, Daughlton Calvin, Cade Sammis, Kjirsten Calvin and Kohlton Calvin and one sister, Roberta J. (Stan) Baumann of Sunnyland. She also leaves a special friend, Terry Dutton of Tremont.She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Alvin "Lee" Calvin, Jr.; one granddaughter, Kylee Choate; one brother, John Buffum and her stepfather, who helped raise her, Robert Slusher.Bonnie owned and operated Seven Acres Restaurant in Tremont for more than 10 years. She previously worked for 10 years at McGladrey & Pullen, L.L.P. in Peoria. Most recently, Bonnie worked for the CITGO Shop 24 Mart in Tremont, last working Friday.She loved spending time with her grandchildren and was an avid Cubs fan. She formerly enjoyed bowling.Her funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 19, 2010 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. The Rev. Connie Rigler will officiate. Visitation will be one hour before the funeral. Burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin.Memorial contributions may be made to the Bonnie Calvin Memorial Fund, in care of the CEFCU Member Center in Pekin.
