Brenda Lee Dickerson

Born July 11, 1967, in Lowell, Massachusetts, she was the daughter of Anthony Fernandes Gouveia and Doris Aileen (Butler) Plourde. She was preceded in death by her parents and her siblings Barbara Loring, Aileen Bernadini, Anthony Gouveia Jr., Robert Bourbeau, Linda Pothier and Paulette Delisle.

Surviving are her three children, Justin (Kristin) Dickerson of Lebanon, Indiana, Ashley Ingles of Pekin, and Cadence Garrison of Green Valley; five grandchildren, Abby Dickerson, Joey Dickerson, Zeke Dickerson, Oliver Mettam and Nora Hill, who is on the way; her siblings, Virginia Richburg of Colorado, Rowena (John) Farnan of Massachusetts, and Diane Wisenburg of Massachusetts; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Above all, Brenda’s family was the light of her life. She treasured time spent with her children and grandchildren, whether gathered around a card game, sharing stories or simply enjoying one another’s company. She found joy in teaching family members to crochet and took great pride in the relationships she shared with those she loved.

Brenda worked as a cashier at Schnucks in Pekin for ten years, where her reliability, kindness and willingness to help others earned the respect of coworkers and customers alike. Through her work, she formed many lasting friendships and became a familiar face to countless members of the community.

A gathering celebrating Brenda’s life will be held from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
