
She was born November 30, 1966, in Joliet to Kenneth and Patricia (Etling) Swearingen. Her father preceded her in death.
Surviving are her mother, Patricia Swearingen of Marquette Heights; one brother, Kenneth “Mike” Swearingen of Marquette Heights; two sisters, Carrie (Ron) Bryant of Creve Coeur and Julie McGill of Washington; two nephews, Ronnie Bryant III and Bradly McGill; and a very special niece and caregiver, Chrystal (John) Blaylock.
Brenda’s mother was a member of The Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Pekin.
One of the things that brought Brenda so much joy throughout her life was her favorite Pillsbury Dough-Boy toy; she brought it everywhere with her.
Her graveside service will be at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, September 4, 2026, at Lakeside Cemetery in Pekin where she will be laid to rest by her father.
Cremation has been entrusted with Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Creve Coeur.
