Carl Joe Magee

He was born November 26, 1965 in Pekin to Thomas Joe and Margaret Darlene (Rutledge) Magee. They preceded him in death.

He married Tammy Dorsey on May 20, 1989 in Pekin.  She survives.

Also surviving are one daughter, Krissy (Ryan) Sieh of Pekin; one son, Ted (Jessica) Dorsey of Pekin; four grandchildren, Breannon Sieh, Sophie Sieh, Brayden Dorsey and Allyson Dorsey, all of Pekin; two sisters, Linda (Hugh) McDougall of Jacksonville, Florida; and Anita Magee of Pekin; one brother, Mike (Lyda) Magee of Pekin; and his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Byron and Rosetta Dorsey of Pekin.

Carl worked as a mail truck driver for  20 years, last working for Mail Carriers of America in DesMoines, Iowa and was the lead driver for the Peoria area, last working on July 5, 2012.

He was recognized as the Driver of the Year for J.B. Hunt Trucking Company in 2008.  He also was a member of the Million Mile Club.

He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, camping, woodworking and working on cars.  He also enjoyed family vacations, traveling and driving. 

His funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.  Pastor Charles Everly will officiate.  Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.  Cremation will be accorded following services.
