

He was born September 12, 1924 in Peoria to Carl F. and Lela A. (Bowersock) Krakel. His parents preceded him in death. Carl was also preceded in death by one brother, Eugene Krakel; one sister, Betty Jane Williams and his best friend, Robert I. Keefer, with whom he had made his home with.
Carl was a 1942 graduate of Manual High School in Peoria, where he played trumpet in the school band. Carl served in the United States Army during World War II following high school.
Carl started his career at Jefferson Bank in Peoria before relocating to California to work for IBM. He retired from IBM in 1980 with 25 years of service.
Carl was a member of the Ventura, California Elks Lodge and Pekin Moose Family Center 916. He enjoyed playing music, theater, gardening, travel and entertaining friends.
Carl was a fun loving caring person. He was witty, known to joke, laugh and smile quite often.
He was of the Christian faith.
Carl requested that there be no visitation or memorial service. He will be cremated. Arrangements are by Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
