Carolyn Jean Schimpler

She was born August 3, 1954 in Monticello, Kentucky to Willard and Doris Jeanette (Brammer) Jones. Her parents preceded her in death.

Surviving are her two brothers, Alan Reid Jones (Shirley) of Marquette Heights and David (Sue) Jones of Normal; and one niece, Angela (Gary) Jackson.

Carolyn Schimpler, CPA, was Assistant Director, Tax Materials at the University of Illinois Tax School from 2008 to 2020 where she was a highly respected Editor among many colleagues.

She enjoyed reading mystery and historical fiction books as well as studying genealogy. Carolyn loved being with friends - spending time in nature or having lively conversations about movies, books and current events.

She attended the United Methodist Church of Champaign.

There will be no services at this time. Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
