

PEKIN ~ Carrie Lee Zapata-Nall, 82, of Pekin, passed away at 3:30 p.m., Thursday, January 6, 2011 at the Greater Peoria Specialty Hospital in Peoria.
Born March 3, 1928 in Asheville, NC to Cecil and Ollie (Ballard) Dockery, she married Manuel Zapata in 1943 in Reno, NV. He preceded her in death April 11, 1981 in Peoria. She later married Howard Nall, February 9, 1999 in Pekin. He survives.
Also surviving are one daughter, Eugenia Zapata of Pekin; four sons, Albert (Debbie) Zapata of Pueblo, CO, Manuel (Jan) Zapata of Lincoln, Emilio (Tammy) Zapata of Lincoln, and Tony (Tonya) Zapata of Pekin; fourteen grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and two great great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, one sister and one great-grandchild.
A homemaker, Carrie sang for ten years with the Family Circle Singers in Pekin. She was also active in nursing home ministries. Carrie was very close to all of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Carrie was a member of River of Life Church in Pekin where she was very active.
Her funeral will be at 11a.m., Tuesday, January 11, 2011 at the Lighthouse Church of God in Pekin. Pastor Mike Forbis will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery in Pekin. Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin is in charge of arrangements.
