Catherine "Cathy" Z Forbis

Born December 8, 1945 in Pekin to Frank and Margaret (Whited) Waremburg, she married Larry Forbis on June 3, 1962 in Pekin. He died September 19, 2009 in Pekin. Also preceding her in death are her parents and four brothers.

Surviving are three sons, Larry (Dawn) Forbis, Randy (Amber) Forbis and Jody (Lisa) Forbis, all of Pekin; nine grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; two sisters, Margaret Dunker of Manito and Joann Havens of Pekin.

She had worked in the Deli at Mr. K’s, then Schnucks in Pekin for 26 years, retiring in 1995.

Cathy was a member of the Pekin Women of the Moose #673 and a member of the Pekin Eagles Aerie #1869 Ladies Auxiliary.

A loving and devoted mother and grandmother, Cathy was a great cook and enjoyed baking, especially cookies for all that came to pick them up. She also had a great love for her animals and enjoyed going to the Par-A-Dice Casino.

Her funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, December 10, 2016 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Pastor Mike McLeod will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Tazewell Animal Protective Society, 100 Taps Lane, Pekin, IL 61554.
