Catherine E. Shirck

She was born on January 19, 1921 in Amherst, Nova Scotia to Milton and Eva (Perry) Hughes and immigrated to Boston, MA in 1924, where she lived until 1948. She married Sydney “Bud” Shirck on May 28, 1949 and she and her husband farmed for over 40 yrs in the Glasford area. He preceded her in death on December 13, 1995 in Peoria. She was also preceded in death by her parents.

Surviving are her three children, Roger Shirck of Peoria; Ron (Lois) Shirck of Cleburne, TX; and Carol (Dennis) Tracy of Peoria, six grandchildren, Amy, Jeff, Lori, Ryan, Christina and Jennifer, and five great-grandchildren.

A funeral will be held on Monday, October 11, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. with visitation one hour prior to the service at the Woolsey Funeral Home Glasford Chapel. Burial will follow the service at Lancaster Cemetery in Glasford.
