Dr. Cathy Ann Shehorn

Born May 8, 1959 in Fairfield, Illinois, she was the daughter of Larry Gene and Barbara Helen (Elliott) Shehorn.

Surviving are her father and stepmother, Larry and Janice Shehorn of Pekin; one brother, Joe (Marsha) Shehorn of Pekin; one sister, Cari Shehorn of Phoenix, Arizona; three nieces and nephews, Alec Shehorn, Ryan Shehorn and Emily Shehorn and her goddaughter, Heidi (Jake) Spring of Downers Grove.

A 1977 graduate of Pekin Community High School, Cathy went on to graduate with her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from DePaul University. She went on to graduate with her Master’s Degree and her Doctorate from Texas Tech University.

Dr. Shehorn was a clinical psychologist devoted to her patients in private practice in both Wisconsin and Illinois for many years.

She was a selfless helper, a veracious reader and a metaphysically spiritual person who loved to spend time in nature. Door County, Wisconsin was her favorite place to visit. She also was a fan of the Green Bay Packers. She will be remembered as a kind, thoughtful, and giving person who devoted her life to helping others thrive.

Private family services will be held out of state at a later date. Cremation has been accorded by Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
