

Born December 18, 1939 in Chicago to Charles H. and Irene Mae (Wilson) Gordon, he married Laurel L. Ives on October 30, 1973 in Denver, Colorado.
Surviving is his wife of 50 years; two daughters, Joy (Kris) Skold of Morton and Valorie (Charles) Weber of Texas; four sons, Michael (Vanessa) Gordon of New York, New York, Marc (Billie) Gordon of Chesterfield, Missouri, Matthew (Sarah) Gordon of Topeka, Kansas and Daryl (Leigh Ann) Gordon of Golden; eight grandchildren and one great-grandson.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Robert B. Gordon.
Bill had worked as an Engineering Technician for the Illinois Dept. of Transportation for 35 years, before retiring in 1991. He also was the manager of the Peoria Highway Credit Union for 15-plus years retiring in 1998.
He enjoyed singing and was a 20-plus year member of the Orpheus Club of Peoria and the Philharmonic Chorale in Peoria. He also enjoyed attending family reunions in in Topeka, Kansas.
Bill was a member of the First Missionary Church in North Pekin.
A gathering celebrating Bill’s life will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, January 27, 2024 at Sanders Life Center in North Pekin. Inurnment will be at a later date at Prairie Haven Cemetery in Pekin.
