

He was born February 17, 1963 in Alton, IL to Carl F. and Glenda (Throgmartin) Helfers.
Surviving are one son, Tyler (Christina) Helfers of Ames, IA; one sister, Nancy (Tom) Hall of Bloomington; four brothers, Jim (Kim Hammond) Helfers of Canton, Marty (Teresa) Helfers of Pekin, Mike (Karen) Helfers of Congerville and Danny (Cherity) Helfers of Roanoke.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Chuck had worked as a in retail and human services for several years, last working in 2004 due to his health.
He was a compassionate man and loved his family deeply.
His memorial service will be at 5 p.m., Friday, May 22, 2015 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Pastor Mark Friday will officiate. Visitation will be from 4 to 5 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Private burial of ashes will be at Green Valley Cemetery.
