Charles was born August 22, 1945 in Pekin to Arthur Johnson and Martha Kwaak. He later married Sally Johnson on November 20, 1974, she preceded him in death but remained the love of his life.
Surviving is one son; Steve (Jo) Johnson of Edwardsville, two grandchildren; Alex (Carlie) Johnson of Edwardsville and Amber (Tim) Johnson of Edwardsville, and one great-grandchild on the way; Thea Grace.
Charles worked for Caterpillar for forty-seven years and retired in 2016 as a programmer. During his time at Caterpillar he received many awards and recognitions for his accomplishments. In his free time, he enjoyed traveling, especially his motorcycle trips across the US and the many cruises that he went on with Sally, going on drives, and boating.
He was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Pekin.
Charles' graveside service will be private.
