

Born August 14, 1929 in Pekin to Charles T. and Louise N. (Hancock) Vaughn, he married Marjorie Ann Stauffer on December 17, 1950 in Pekin. She passed away April 28, 2004 in Pekin. He also was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Deanne Bohannon; and two brothers.
Surviving are three daughters, Sharon (Sheri Benedict) Bishop and Shelley (Jim) Williamson, both of Pekin and Lori (Tom) Larimore of St. Jacob; one son, Denny (Joy) Vaughn of Pekin; twelve grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and two on the way; one sister, Velma Widby of Pekin; and his son-in-law, Jim Bohannon of Pekin.
He served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict in the 3rd Armored Division.
He had worked in the refinery for Corn Products in Pekin for forty years, retiring in September 1991. He later became a member of the Corn Products Retirees.
He loved fishing, working on his lawn and going for walks. He also was an avid St. Louis Cardinals baseball fan.
Jack was of the Lutheran faith.
His funeral will be at 6 p.m. Friday, May 5, 2017 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Pastor Patrick McCone will officiate. Visitation will be from 4 to 5:45 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. The family requests that everyone dress in the Cardinals baseball attire in honor of his love for the game. Cremation will be accorded following services. Private inurnment will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin, with military honors will be provided by the United States Army and the Tazewell Area Ceremonial Team.
