Clarence G Frohling

Born October 4, 1918 in Pekin to Henry and Lydia (Dalcher) Frohling, he married Evelyn M. Lohrenz on December 8, 1939 in Washington. She died November 3, 1998 in Pekin. He was also preceded in death by his parents; one infant son, James Frohling; one daughter, Patricia Henninger; one brother, Bertis Frohling; and one sister, Alberta Maus.

Surviving are several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. He also leaves behind his late in life companion, Doris Buchanan of Pekin

A United States Army veteran of World War II, he served from June 3, 1942 to October 20, 1945. He attained the rank of Staff Sergeant. He had served under General George Patton and had received the Bronze Star.

Clarence worked at Corn Products Company in Pekin for 35 years, retiring in 1980 as a supervisor in the refinery.

He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #1869 and Pioneer Club of Corn Products, both in Pekin, Peoria Sportsman’s Club in rural Manito, Porter Bell American Legion Post #715 in New Holland, and the White County Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #3851 in Carmi. He was a former member of Zion Lutheran Church in New Holland.

Clarence enjoyed fishing and hunting.

His funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 1, 2013 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin, where visitation will be one hour before the service. Burial will be at Richmond Grove Cemetery in New Holland, where military rites will be accorded.
