He was born October 17, 1947 in Hannibal, Missouri to Walter R., Sr. and Irene E. (Stimpson) Powell. He married Brenda Williamson and they later divorced.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Christopher Ross; and one brother, David Powell.
Surviving are his daughter, Jessica Chevey of Quincy; his step-children, Danny Northrip of Mackinaw and RoseAnn Northrip of Pekin; his brother, Walter Powell of California and his step-sister, Angela Hurst.
Larry was a veteran of the United States Army.
Larry enjoyed motorcycles, fishing with his kids, taking care of his plants at home and watching NCIS and Westerns.
There will be no services. A private burial will take place at Masonic Cemetery in Mount Pleasant, Texas.
